cookie extreme
had one about 5 years ago. wasn't bad, but stuffs up cheap powerheads very fast and shortens lifespan on good ones by quite a bit.
reef
They only stop and start, so power heads will get wasted as they are not designed to stop and start. Bit of old technology.
chimera
sounds like a spot of good marketing "the ultimate wavemaker"
Feelers
It would be great if you could have it on very low but not off, I assume its only starting powerheads thats the problem?
misnoma
Speed controlling AC motors is a challenging task compared to DC
Ira
You can't control the speed of most powerheads. Not easily anyway, Possibly if you could change the frequency of the AC power going to them that would drop the speed, but if you just decrease the voltage it doesn't really work properly.
