Converting Freshwater tank into Saltwater.

Have a look at "Crackers upgrade". (THREAD).

I am building a large but simple system that is MONEY friendly for the size system I am upgrading to. Obviously a smaller system will be even more friendly if done right.

My hint to you is, LFS are the most expensive and friends of the hobby are the opposite, if you know what I mean. You will still need the LFS for some parts, but only when absolutely necessary.

Knowing people helps with cost dramatically.

More than welcome to see my existing set up and im sure they're are a couple of others here that can share info or show you their setups.

Very advisable, as my first set up was LFS orientated and I spent WAY too much.... :-?

Pm me if required and good luck. :)

I'll second the "go and see people's setups and talk to them" thing... I've done that with a couple of people here on the forums (thanks Jetskisteve and reef!), and am intending to see more yet (no-one is safe!). Chatting one-on-one with people tends to get a lot of questions answered more clearly than on the forums at times.

About those needle wheel skimmers from deep blue, I read a thread comparing cheap skimming options and quite a few people said that they just werent worth the extra $ compared the normal weirpro, they said they were of comparable skimmate. (obviously I have no idea so no replies about how im living in fairy land):o

Ill try and find the thread if anyones interested.
