petplanet
Be interesting to see if you can keep the three clowns. Two of mine paired and drove the other away. Had to take it out of the tank.
Ira
I have that same thermometer. I've found it reads exactly 1 degree high though. Checked against 3 other thermometers of 3 different types. Wierd.
jetskisteve
ammonia & Nitrite should be undetectable.
Brianemone
hmmm, that anemone and clam are very bold moves. good luck
chimera
Everything looks happy apart from the cleaner shrimp that didnt appreciate the move to his new home, DOA when I got to work the next day make sure they don't leave the water at any stage between LFS and your tank, they are also very sensitive to sudden temperature changes so acclimatise slowly - when you get your next ones
Brianemone
do you have a close up of the black tube coral
Pies
Looks good, lots of potential there. As JetSkiSteve said, Amonia and Nitrite should be zero, and their presence shows that the tank is still in the very imature cycle period. I would have thought it was too early to add live-stock, still no point in worrying about that now. Ohhh and carpet Anemones are Evil, and I mean that. I would strongly reccomend removing it from the tank, anything they touch, they kill, regardless of size. Personal experance talking here. Good luck, looking foward to seeing the tank grow. warick hearn
I thought having detectable nitrites in the tank will kill most fish??
wasp
Correct, not good in the long haul. This is a new tank, hopefully the situation will correct itself. However, this will be a case of too much stocking too early, and is likely the cause of the demise of the shrimp, which is less forgiving than the fish. However, now the deed is done, it is just a case of hoping all the livestock can survive until the tank comes right. Sometimes these situations do end in tears though. reef
i dont think the readings are that bad, nitrite is not a problem that low in saltwater as it has a higer ph . The ammonia is as high as you want to go.
