Pies
I tell you what, if any of my plumbing wears out, you can tell me 'i told you so'. Pie
chimera
as I stated 6ft/sec is the recommended fluid velocity. this means less wear on the pump as well as less wear on the plumbing. just stating all the facts.... it's not rocket science... wasp
wow, all i need to do is quote a random element from the periodic table and you can be sure wasp and lduncan will have a debate over it  wow, all we need to do is mention plumbing and you can be sure chimera and pies will have a debate over it  Sorry dude, cheap shot I know but couldn't help it
madcookie
ROTFLMAO......So thats what the debate was about...? Personally, I reckon you are ALL wrong, the pink fairy told the green goblin, to tell me to tell you - 'The most important aspect of plumbing is maintenenace - you have to clean your hoses or they clog and effectively shrink in size'. Now talking about hose cleaning.... 8)

chimera
wow, all we need to do is mention plumbing and you can be sure chimera and pies will have a debate over it  i dont take that as a cheap shot, thats far too much of a good call not to laugh! its one thing to have debates on different topics but when you get personal quoting someones tank that pisses me off. at least the closed loop works exceptionally well, regardless of what it looks like. Brianemone
spagetti? i'm still debating what kind of closed loop to implement
JoeBlog
its one thing to have debates on different topics but when you get personal quoting someones tank that pisses me off. at least the closed loop works exceptionally well, regardless of what it looks like. Dude, you've done an amazing job with that 4-way. I think the OMs are one of the best alternative flow devices on the market, but it's true that plumbing can be a bitch. I know from my own experiences and certainly wouldn't want to show anyone on this forum the back of my tank given their responses. You can certainly have confidence that anyone here talking smack couldn't do the OM 4-way plumbing better! Pies
Just in case anyone reading has got the wrong idea, we are just fooling. Its kind off like having an arguement over painting a wall 'white' or 'spanish white'. There's nothing in it. You can certainly have confidence that anyone here talking smack couldn't do the OM 4-way plumbing better! I have complete confidence I could do it better Joeblog - comone lets see it! We've shown you ours... Pie
chimera
I have complete confidence I could do it better I have complete confidence i could do it better if i were doing it again, have learnt a thing or two from it thats for sure. however, at the end of the day it still does the same job in terms of awesome circulation so why should i care? HummingBird
IMO Spanish White is definately the better choice.
misnoma
No Way!, do your research... pure white is the only logical choice. I read it on the internet so it must be true 8)
monaro1
ok,i have a question, dose water flow through a pipe the same way gas would.eg,engine exhaust.
madcookie
Dunno if it flows like a gas - would have thought unless perfectly 'tuned' would still have turbulance at bends/corners tho.... One thing for sure tho, water flows best in pipes that are Spanish White in colour - no question about this one. I've even made some formulas that support this fact. chimera
dose water flow through a pipe the same way gas would.eg,engine exhaust depends if its a holden or a ford
madcookie
Hahahaha, could you imagine FORD making fishtanks? They would rust within weeks, leak all over the carpet, and be sooo ugly. Still, their owners would continue thinking they made the logical choice..... 8)
Snowman
LOL you may notice few FPV GT's around because they are exclusive for those that have real taste as opposed to the holdens that are a dime a dozen, a holden fishtank wouldn't rust cause it wouldn't hold the water for long enough  , much like you were lucky to get a few thousand kms out of their early gen 3 CHEV engines, who wants an OPEL oops VAUXHALL oops HOLDEN commodore LOL opel suspension, chev engines, the only true holden bits are the badges LOL I take it you don't follow the supercars Madcookie LOL GT's will be future collectables as there aren't many of them as opposed to the mass produced clubbies etc  We see what happens tommorrow ay Go The Fords
monaro1
as i said engine exhaust, not the polution that comes out of the things thay brand with a blue badge so everyone knows how to spell shit and what it looks like. if water flows the same, then when you change the internal diameter of a pipe without a smoth change you create turberlance witch inturn makes your pipe smaller.this is why plumbers ream out all pipes befour joining.have a look at the way a pvc pipe joiner works. turberlance dose cause weak spots but only become a problem in many many years to come. as a rule sudden changes in internal diameter in any pipe work is a no no
chimera
as a rule sudden changes in internal diameter in any pipe work is a no no yes, same with fluids. not sure if its different under pressure vs gravity though? heheee, holden vs ford debate, that didnt take long. anyways you'd both be eating my godzilla dust

Snowman
Ahh the ole missan ay, so if i got a $80,000 FPV GT-P and spent the other $40,000 to make it the same value as a GTR then which would you put your money on? Admittedly the chev does have more kw but only because it needs it to make up for the lack of handling the 40 yr old rear end gives it. Finally the 2006 VE is going to have a new rear end so the handling may catch up to the ford. Giving way 10 kw is pretty good considering the large displacement mismatch. The murphy ad "ahhh truth syrum, no car wax, bring it back clean 51" is very good. The SV6 ad is a good laugh though, think they made a mistake putting the V8 soundtrack in an ad for a V6 LOL Who was it that built the Ferrari killer and it did it for 3-4 yrs LOL
chimera
how about i take an older $30k godzilla, spend $50k on it then we race back on topic, pies - you thought my plumbing was bad?... impressive SIZE tank but OMG... http://www.reeffrontiers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5253
lduncan
I know from my own experiences and certainly wouldn't want to show anyone on this forum the back of my tank given their responses It must have been good, cause even I didn't notice it when I was round last. ok,i have a question, dose water flow through a pipe the same way gas would.eg,engine exhaust. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. The main difference with gasses it that they are compressible, where as liquids are not as compressible.
