Krib Advice Please

Hi

This is my problem , i had 3 pairs of kribs all breeding at once , one pair in there own breeding tank and two pairs in community tanks , one of those pairs was not a problem because the tank was huge and everything else has room to keep out of there way but the other was only a small two footer with platies etc in it and the parents were going to kill anything that came near there babies ( as good krib parents do  ) .

What i was wondering i have tanken the babies and that tank has settled down nicely but could i put those babies in with the pair in there own tank to raise as there own or would those parents see them as intruders and just eat them ??

I'll raise them in the breeding trap or now but its only so big and being raised by Krib parents seems better to me.

Let me know what you think or if you have done something like this yourselves.

Thanks

Hey Paul, can't help you with the babies except to say I have had bristlenoses raise another pairs babies. I honestlly don't think kribs would kill other fish. We have kribs breed in our hexagonals (and that is a smaller space than a 2ft. They chase everyone away but never kill anything and from time to time a few of the babies even survive! By the way, the kribs we got off you are doing well.

My tank has been at 7.8 since it cycled 2 months ago.Have been trying to bring it down with rain water but the subtrate I got was off the beach and the gang here said with the shell in it the Ph will stay high.

So now that it is stable I think I will leave it and go for some cichlids.

I ask the question because I have a pair of krib and the female is still sick or something(not normal anyway)and was just checking to see if I needed to change anything.

Should be OK, will keep an eye on her.
