freshwest
I was having one of those dumb moments. Nice fish. Who breeds them? Got to love those wild types.
Luke*
Hey BlueandKim nice tank! looks really good and placid as you say. Freshwest yeah one of them does look quite brown and wild as you say, but they are all from RSTG x Royal Red, maybe it's a throwback to earlier genetics? I have a pair in a 60G spawning tank at the moment waiting for them to lay eggs. Blue has also got a pair, funnily enough his breeding female is the sister to my brothers and sisters above. MRSkz
very nice u2. If only I could get a tank for each fish I want I'd have to have a house just for the aquariums.

Discusguru
Thanks Glen, Hope I can grow them up and breed them one day. That is providing the hormone feeding hasn't make them sterile  Ron
sharn
your not serious bout hormone feeding right?
Discusguru
Sharn, every imported fish you buy, you are taking a risk. Especially the exotic strain where they are fed homones to get the colour and pattern out and for grading purposes. Ron

Luke*
Thanks Ant, yes Ronnie I love the very round shape and colour on that red melon. It also has a perfect arking curve on its forehead. To top it off it has a very small proportionate red eye. Just to fill in anyone watching Ronnie raised this fish up and I have recently acquired it off him. What pic isn't working Guru? Jolly
Here is a pic of my Cobalt Discus. I have already posted this pic in my welcome thread. P.S. Ronnie, i tried taking pics today of the very pretty Red Turks i bought off you, but haven't had any luck so far - they all turned out blurry Cheers Joel
Discusguru
You'll just have to take heaps and hope that you get a couple of clear shots. Selecting clear shots is like culling baby discus so i'm used to it LOL Ron

Vickie
could someone please let me know what type of water that discus naturally some from. blackwater, white water, or clear water in the amazon river?
Discusguru
unless you're getting discus straight from the amazon you don't have to worry about what water is in the river. All the discus you see in nz are domestically bred (apart from the odd few) They are bred and raise in clorine free tap water.
