Bluetom
I have two golden algae eaters and one of them has become really plumpt. Does anyone know anything about how these guys breed?? I would love to have some little ones. They are currently in a community tank as the clean up crew. Tank is 600x300x300 I do have a few smaller tanks i could move them to. Any advice would be great. Alan
If they are the gold varieties of the Chinese Algae eater, then I don't think they have been captive bred Of course I could be wrong. Thank goodness they can't be, as they can, and do, become a nuisance in the tank and not one I'd reccommend for ANY fish tank. There are better Algae Eaters out there than this species. Bluetom
why do you say they are a nusince?? Mine don't both any of the other fish and do a get job of cleaning the tank. I'm not sure if they are the gold chineese ones.

Freakyfish
Yeah these guys can be very aggresive Ive seen them latch onto the sides or larger fish and chew a hole into the side It seems once they have the taste for the mucus of the fish they tend to attack it alot more Brad
