Celcuis
Alanmin I have 3 short stems of Rotala rotundifolia which I really like but can't get to grow in fact the bottom of the stem is turning brown but I have recently added an extra 10w of led to the excisting 15w of t8 on a 54 liter tank so I'm gonna hope it'll come back I also have couple of decent size stems in the emersed grow out which I'll also chuck in and see if it'll grow. anyway do u have any pearl weed or dwarf baby tears available? alanmin4304
If you only have a small tank and you want more light a cool daylight energy saving bulb or a cool white LED bulb with a Chinese hat reflector would be a cheap and effective answer. Don't forget that grandad used candles.
Celcuis
Yup that what is is, it's a 10w led bulb which I recently ripped out of a lamp which is attached to the lid

Celcuis
Also I'm having a real problem with tannins which to me ruins the crisp whiteness of the water. Is there anything I can do about it?
Caryl
Either remove the driftwood leaching the tannin or add charcoal to your filter. I have red rotala if you want to try more once you think your lighting is doing the job for it.
Celcuis
Since tannins are good I might as well do more water changes... Ill try some rotala once it starts to grow in my tank but before that I need to upgrade to cheap canister filter. Internal filters are a pain to clean... thanks
