Rodica
Hi I have a question regarding keeping turtles outdoors full time. I am aware that if that is to be done that from this point on till December would be a good time to put them out to acclimatize. But I need to know does anyone keep reeves turtles outside all year round? Also, what about Australian Painted turtles. I live in Wellington and am about to have a pond made, where I thought I could let all of them live outdoors. Of course I am planning on have divisions between all of them as I know that they can fight. My Reeves are 9 years old, and my Painted turtle is 1 year and 9 months old. I am also going to put my 13 year old Red ear turtle out there too. Hope to hear from someone soon, as I am unsure if the reeves and Australian Painted turtle could survive okay in a pond full time. Thanks
livingart
Your painted and reeves will need heat during winter also those 2 have different swimming abilities Depending onamount of frosts but the red ear should hibernate outside so long as it can dig in somewhere if needed
