JJWooble
Hey allJust a quick conundrum-- I have been thinking about getting some threadfin rainbowfish for my 200L. I would be wanting to get around 10 to start off with, but it has just occurred to me that this may be an issue because of their size with relation to the quarantine tank size. The tank in question is a 30 L-- my main concerns are that it is:(a) simply too small for the rainbows for a period of a fortnight due to activity level and(b) due to aggression within the group. As mentioned I'd want to quarantine them for around 14 days just as a safeguard against disease, but is this tank size going to be an issue/be more likely to cause problems than prevent them? I don't really have room for a bigger QT so it may just mean that I'll be getting neon rainbows instead. Many thanks for any inputJ
Fishluva
My quarantine tank is a Aqua One 620. 90 litres. It is only just big enough in my opinion.30 litres? Yikes!
JJWooble
For a group of rainbows to qt specifically or in general as a qt tank? Most of my fish are under 5cms and aren't aggressive lol so it hasn't been an issue before
Fishluva
I put some of that black roofing paper underlay stuff round the sides n back . Really helped calm them down.No substrate helps a lot. Just a cple small bits of wood and a bunch of weighted stem plants helps to calm them too. JJWooble
Discusguru
30 ltrs will be fine as a qt tank for the treadfins. They are small fish.
