Aqua
wow - convicts are gorgeous! That's some amazing colour! Tell me more about them
misnoma
If you would like some - free... come visit (I'm in Auckland CBD) heh.. urm... for small fish, they have big attitudes, unless you have a cichlid tank of sorts they'll generally make trouble - especially if you end up with a pair who want to breed (which is far more common than rabbits ) So yeah - they're really cool, you just need tankmates who can deal with it, that or make sure you get all of one gender. Aqua
well... I'm getting a 420-odd litre tank in a few weeks (I hope - somebody buy the turtles!!!), so I'm looking for ideas of what to do with it! Do convicts get on well with plants? Or are they more of a rock & driftwood type fish?
Travis & Vicki
mystic, did i hear you say you wanted more baby cons, there are a couple of hundred here for you
Travis & Vicki
(Im sure my Nemo will want a few tasty treats! pmsl! ) thats what i thought about oscar too, the little buggers escaped and there is a community of escaped convicts living at the bottom of the big tank. no police man to get rid of them, once something goes in the big tank its there forever, cant reach to catch them
livebearer_breeder
Well i thought i had gotten rid of my convicts, i fed 140 off when they were fry, kept ten fry, and sold my adults to Mystic, the 10 fry died, and it seems 17 fry in the big tank that i fed them out in survived, so i know have 3cm convicts swimming about. HummingBird
Angelfish, Oscars, any other fish big enough to fit them in their mouth - they'd be a market happy to take them off your hands
Travis & Vicki
Angelfish, Oscars, any other fish big enough to fit them in their mouth - they'd be a market happy to take them off your hands the problem is the little darlings are real convicts and escape to the far reaches of the tank and suvive
Travis & Vicki
This is one of the escapees, dwelling in a con community at the far reaches of the cichlid community tank, they dont fear the oscars, the clown knife, the jewel, nothing. It looks like some kind of con commune down there
