My tank - hassle me lots!

Featured Replies

Okay.. I finally got around to taking a semi-decent pic of the 5' cichlid tank.

it'll be here as soon as someone nice approves it (naked fish aren't porn are they? )

I'd love comments.. and ideas on how to make it better

Current Inhabitants:

Red Tiger Oscar (bitey)

Redhead Cichlid

Network Sydontis Catfish (general sherman)

Golden Chinese Algae Eater (lazy :) )

Two Striped Convicts

Four Jewels (tks Graeme!)

I'm not planning to add any other fish to this tank.. it's possibly a little overstocked, but all the fish get on quite well, and the slight crowding (it's 5', so there's plenty of room really) seems to keep things more peaceful than when I had less in there. Obviously with oscar and redhead growth at some point I'll have to do something, but we'll deal with that when the time comes.

Wow streaking fish!

Doesn't look overcrowded to me but you asked for comments so here goes...

The tank looks good but it tends to look a little 'flat'. Both from a gravel point of view (but I doubt you can change it with those fish rearranging it anyway) but also with all the logs and stones going long-wise with the tank. If some of them were angled a little more it would give the tank more depth from front to back. Just my opinion of course. I think landscaping is a very personal choice and if you like it as it is, then that's great!

I picked up a Jack Dempsy today, so decided that rearranging the tank would be a good idea to confuse the lot of em :)

It worked well, he hasn't been hassled much at all, most of the fish are still (2 hours later) swimming around looking all confused  only fish that seems interested in chasing him(her?) is the female convict, maybe she's horny :)
