chimera
I have added a Stream... could this be the issue yes, most likely. i dont think they like strong current directed straight at it but will handle a fair amount of current in time. calvin
Mine did not extend for 3 months. I moved it to a temp tank when I moved house, and now finally it started extending. (not fully yet ) My fijian leather also stopped extending before the move. I changed the phosfate remover and carbon in the canister, and it extended within 30 minutes. :-? reef
I doubt the stream has anything to do with it. Sometimes they close for a week and then open much larger. Must be a growing stage.
Control
Reef is right, it will probably come back bigger and soft corals like good water movement. Only start to worry if it shrinks or goes shinny. Aaron.
dogmatix
I agree with the above two posts, but if it is shiny i wouldnt be to concerned unluss its like that for more than 7 days, a healthy leather in my experiance should close its polyps regulary to shed its mucus coating at least once every two days in order to grow. Many of my leathers had been closed or semi untill i pulled out my lemonpeel and coral beauty my lemon was almost orange !!! Still might try my luck with a flame angel Have a look aat fay's tank her's are cranking under streams. BTW Aaron (duke) ill try ring you tommorow to finish our talk, sorry for not calling you back last week. Ben
chimera
mine closed up for about 3 weeks when i increased water flow (closed loops). i moved it to the refugium and it came back the next night. perhaps just lucky?
