Hi all, could someone please recommend me a accurate thermometer I can get for $ <30 ?

I'm pretty happy with it, but most of the thermometers on trademe are pretty cheap.

Yep, I bought one of those as shown above. Ive had mine for about a week, but yes, Im pretty happy with mine too.

I use those for my tanks, locusts and bearded dragon, they're pretty good.

They can fail however, just buy a couple spares from ebay they are like $1 each.

i saw a post about the cheap ones on TM, and they were saying how bad they are at reading the correct temps.

I have two, one in each tank, so i chucked a glass thermometer in there and they are both very close to correct.

so i guess just be aware that they could be reporting incorrect temps.

I buy 5+ at a time from ebay ($1 each), test them all at once along with a good thermometer (infrared gun) and if any are incorrect I just remove the wire and keep it for spare, and throw away the rest. Maybe 1 in 10 is out.

Just get in a habit of checking them every month or 2 as they can drift as resistance in the tip or cable changes over time due to material degradation.
