camtang
I have a small tank that I am currently not using and I want to try and grow some moss in it. I have heard that people have grown moss in a bucket outside with no additional aids. So my question is, will xmas moss go ok in a tank with no heater, no filter, no movement and just so "second hand" light from my MH unit? alanmin4304
Probably. Being inside the ambient will be higher than outside and I have seen it grown using only light through a window. Your chance to be a scientist and do a useful experiment.

Insect Direct
I have some outside in a trough with my axolotls .. noticed it is forming a mat through/over the acorus mound the other day.. And other years it has survived winter but not much growth. Also unheated inside .. tanks only down to about 11C so far this winter. growth is slow and sparse .. looks like java other than the new shoots xmas tree formation.
