Alan
I did something similar with a worm feeder. Now I sterilise plastics using chemicals. Alan
Caryl
You get a similar effect if you put Tupperware on a hot element, except a little more localised warping

jude
I did that once, with a plastic laundry basked. But because i was busy running after three pre-schoolers at the time I just turned off the element when I realised what was happening. Later that day I went to move said basket and it had set solidly to the element ........... which dumbo should have realised it would do   So I had to melt it again to remove it    Cheers Jude
suphew
I have feed CO2 into the air intake hole on power heads before, but the best I ever managed was to drill a hole close to the pump end on an external filter outlet hose, push in one of those air line joiner thingies and connect the CO2, it was well defused by the time it can out into the tank. Just make sure the CO2 unit is above the tank level so you don't get a syphon when your gas runs out.

Thunderstorm
hi, yup a CO2 diffuser. Suphew, yup, im doing what you suggested now, and the bubbles get split into millions of tiny bubbles by the pump an you can see them getting absorbed by the water when they get blown into the tank Seems to be working quite well
