(Photos are just taken with my phone) This is what the tank looked like 2 weeks ago just after i took out some FW puffers: as you can see not a marine tank :slfg: tank dimensions : 17.5cm X 23cm X 23.5cm Tank Volume ~ 9.5L Time to upgrade the equipment this is currently whats in the tank: So far expenditure is: Tank Boyu LED arts model ME-175A - $95 (tank includes a 150L/HR pump) Aqua one Maxi 101 power head (400L/HR) - $22 Heater Aqua one 25W- $25 Aqua one infinity AP-150R air pump (100L/HR) -$13 Dymax IQ skimmer - $50 Digital thermometer - $10 By far the biggest expense: Fluval Sea Marine and Reef Performance LED -$280 Total hardware cost to date - $495 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

wilson Posted February 11, 2014 Author Report Share Posted February 11, 2014 it fits nicely in the rear compartment it worked well enough for the puffers setup the tank swings from 24.8 on cooler mornings to :facepalm: 27.4 on warm afternoons mostly because the room heats up in the afternoon sun, as were heading towards winter this shouldn't be two much of a problem edit: tank is currently 26.8 corals dont seem to mind it and the turbo snails are still turboing :sml2: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The common myth of the 26 degree "melting/death" point of tropical corals has been dispelled and is slowly being removed from the public domain's way of thinking. Corals regularly get to 26-27 degC in their native habitat and 28 degC is not super rare (ie they are tolerant of temperatures this high). The more worrying part is the big temperature swings, a 1-2 degC swing is not too bad but pushing 3 degC is getting a bit high. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
