Jutney
I am setting my new 4ft African tank up and my local beach has quite coarse white sand. If I boiled it and rinsed it really well would it be safe to use?
Ira
I am setting my new 4ft African tank up and my local beach has quite coarse white sand. If I boiled it and rinsed it really well would it be safe to use? I wouldn't bother boiling it. Just give it a good rinse to keep it from clouding up the water too much, it still will heaps though. hovmoller
The coarse white sand might be made up of mostly little shell fragments (just speculating here) but for an african setup that is probably a good thing. But yes wash thoroughly and its all good to use. I also agree no need to boil it.
