Jasmine
Was thinking of going FOWLR but now debating keeping some easy reef stuffs. I have been out of the scene for a while and now it looks like LEDs are the "thing". I was debating going with a T5 unit until I read up on LED stuffs. Now if wanted to make my own unit, what LED strips should I go for? I saw in another thread was recommended white cold 5050 for plants with 60 LED per meter (I think off the top of my head). Would this also be appropriate for what I need? Pictures of your setups would be awesome too Thanks for any help!
alexyay
5050 are recommended but the strips typically don't give nearly enough output to grow plants, let alone corals (unless you're willing to pay a fair amount of money). livingart
Led strip lights won't be adepuate for marine T5's will suffice for softies, i use a combo of led and halide and get a fair result
Jasmine
Oh okay I don't mind going for t5s. What LEDs are usually the recommended ones for corals? The world of LEDs are new to me aside from the ones on my car lol
