ten_roses
Hi I havn't had any luck breeding my mystery snails. I got 4 blue mystery snails maybe 2 months ago now. I have seen them mating many times so I assume that I do have males and females. I have the water level about 2-3 inches from the top of the tank. My snails have not laid any eggs since I got them, does anyone have any suggestions or advice?
amtiskaw
Overfeeding usually increases snail numbers :dunno:
ten_roses
That may be the case with trumpet snails, ramshorn snails and pond snails but mystery snails are a bit more tricky.....
Ira
That may be the case with trumpet snails, ramshorn snails and pond snails but mystery snails are a bit more tricky..... If they were too simple they'd be named Known Snails.
amtiskaw
That may be the case with trumpet snails, ramshorn snails and pond snails but mystery snails are a bit more tricky..... Ah, right. Just googled "mystery snails" - now I get what you're on about  I've never heard them called that before. No idea sorry, but there's lots of sites mentioning breeding tips for them. ten_roses
How long did your snails take to begin laying eggs?

ten_roses
Oh ok because mine were about half the adult size when I got them. Which was around 1 and a half months ago and they havn't laid any eggs yet. Maybe they need to grow a bit more first....
F15hguy
check to make sure pH is not acidic and there is enough calcium in the water' try oyster grit if you need to bump it up a bit. Also feed them pumpkin and zuchini to get them ready. Drop your water level so there is a dry zone of around 5cm to give them extra room to lay eggs.
