Vinnie
It turns out that Urau's can go from being a lovely, nice, we get on with every one in the tank sort of fish to, we can do enough damage to kill a Black Aro in the time it takes you to put the washing out. &c:ry Has anyone had this happen to them before? As soon as we noticed what was happening the urau's got chucked into another tank so we could isolate the aro to help him the best we could, but by the next morning (this morning) he was gone. I'm tempted just to go back to a tetra tank after this.... if I can be bothered at all. Some fish are fish, some are family if you get what I mean. David R
How big were the uarus? How big was the aro? How big was the tank?
Vinnie
How big were the uarus? How big was the aro? How big was the tank? Uaru's about 8 - 10 cm, Aro about 50cm and the tank was plenty big enough for just them without issues.
David R
What else was in there, you certain it was the uarus? Seems strange given the size difference, but I guess that's cichlids for you...
Vinnie
The only other 2 fish in the tank were both catfish. But we know it was the Uaru's as we caught them in the act.... I'm still trying to work out what I'm going to do with my 850L tank now...

David R
Are the uarus a pair? Seems a bit young for them to be getting ready to breed (only time I've really seen them get aggressive) but who knows. How old are they?
