Wait. Eventually they'll come to the top and you can net them.

alanmin4304
Put everything in a bucket and top it up with water. Go have a cup of coffee and come back with a net. They breath air so have to come to the top to breath and you scoop them out with a net.
G.Eagle
ahh that sounds like a plan!!! now can i fill up the bucket up with tap water or does it have to be tank water?
G.Eagle
umm also can you feed fish mosquitos every day? and how many can i feed the fish??
SamH
If they're in the water, you're talking about mosquito larvae, not mosquitoes. You feed as much as you normally would, I feed max 5 per fish per day.
G.Eagle
yeah larvae, might stop the feeding tonight, lol. got about 15 guppies, 4 neons and 2 keyhole cichlids, and they are just smashing them back! mind you they are still hunting round for them :slfg:
Ira
umm also can you feed fish mosquitos every day? and how many can i feed the fish?? Feed them ALL the larvae. If they get really full and won't eat anymore then the larvae will just float around the tank until they do get eaten.
Sophia
also they like to hide under shade - in my bugs pond there are 2 fake lily pads and when I move them aside there are usually a bunch under there just waiting to be snapped up. G.Eagle
yeah i noticed they were all around a petal that landed in there, there was a dead adult in the bucket this morning?
Sophia
I get plenty of those, I think it means they've laid their eggs and fulfilled their life's purpose and gone to the big mosquito net in the sky...... &c:ry
aotealotl
I put a bin outside more than 2 weeks ago filled with rain water. I have pieces of bark in it as islands. I did munch peas and spinach in a blender and put that into the water to make it more greenish (read that here somewhere). beside some drowned beatles and moths there is nothing going on in it. no mosquito larvas nothing. the bin is on the shade side of the house, does it have to stand in direct sun light, would that may help ? (I also went with a fine fish net thru several ponds we have here in the forests but beside tonns and tonns of boatman in all sizes there are no mosquito larvas neither). strange...
