calculator Posted December 18, 2012 Report Share Posted December 18, 2012 I have never found snails to be a problem, as long as you dont over feed they will just clean up the little amount of leftovers, and not get to large enough numbers to become an eye sore. oO SKIPPY Oo Posted December 19, 2012 Author Report Share Posted December 19, 2012 i wont be putting fish in till after the xmas break as the tank is at work and i dont want to have to come in to clean the tank and feed fish etc - hadn't thought about loaches - whats a cheap loach that wont get too big ? only have a 110L tank so dont want clowns that they get far too big. Sophia Posted December 19, 2012 Report Share Posted December 19, 2012 snail rid is pretty easy and you can just water change it all out before the fish arrive. the only I'm not sure of is how that would affect new tank cycling, that's if it is a new filter. And to an even more insignificant amount due to the tank not cycling anyway without fish or some other source of ammonia. oO SKIPPY Oo Posted December 20, 2012 Author Report Share Posted December 20, 2012 quick question..... what kind of snails???? to be honest - im not sure what kind they are - the ones i have seen are very small - like 3mm in length so far oh and i have put CYCLE into start the cycling process but was thinking about chucking a fish or 2 into the tank before i go on holiday (will still be in town to feed but didnt want to throw everthing i have at it when im not really available to do any water changes etc..) Dana Posted December 22, 2012 Report Share Posted December 22, 2012 Loaches are brilliant for snails. I have 6 clowns and watch them play amongst each other with snail shells lol.
