The most common type of lighting used on smaller tanks are CFL (energy saver) bulbs. They fit into a standard light fitting so usually a desk lamp is used. You'll want bulbs coloured 6500K also known as 865 or cool daylight.

personally heard some bad things about those $25 LED clip ons, there are really good ones by Dmax that retail around the$70,

but seriously nothing wrong with a $10 desk lamp and $5 energy saver bulb, cheap enough power wise, heaps of light for plants. juts make sure you mount it vertically as the light intensity for horizontal mounts is pathetic.

They are about £8 ( most of the time it's cheapest to buy in pounds) depending on how many LEDs you want in the bulb depends on how much you pay. £8 would get you 35-36Leds per bulb you can pay a few pounds more and get 50 LEDs per bulb.

Check this place out. It's where I got mine.
