RUNAS Posted November 4, 2012 Report Share Posted November 4, 2012 Sorry protein skimmers again ! Still not 100 % on a new PS closer though either a Bubble Magnus or Reef Octopus. I see people say "go plus one" which I get, however is there a point where it's too big for the system and it may lose its effectiveness ? My system total volume is 350 litres local FOWLR, should I be going for a PS which is rated for up to 500 lt or spend $80 more and go for the one which is rated for up to 900 lt. :nilly: Thanks RUNAS Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you tank is 350L then get a skimmer that is rated for a 700L tank. however is there a point where it's too big for the system and it may lose its effectiveness ? yes, if you get a skimmer that is too big then it will not skim effectively as it needs something to take out to work well.
