mattberrytr
Hi all, Does anyone here have nerite snails in their fresh water tank? Are they able to sell a few to me? I want them to help control algae. Have tried going down to the beach and catching a bunch of small snails (that I thought looked like nerites) but they died in my tank. I live in wellington. mattberrytr
From what I understand most nerite snails can live in fresh water but cannot breed in it.
F15hguy
yes but need to acclimate VERY slowly to the change in salinity.
livingart
and even then it may not work depending on the species try to find where fresh water goes into the sea snails there may be easier to acclaimatise
