camtang
I am 100% sure it is a fish hey thanks for your input...... ( I cant think of any insult that is mildly offending but also light hearted enough for you not to take offence, so I will just leave it at that)
Sheepsnana
It's ok, his post is offending him just plenty. We're all thinking it...

F15hguy
back to original topic.... is it a purebreed or a hybrid???, looks kinda like a jacobfreibergi without the yellow and a bit rustier
camtang
Like this one? was sold to me as one at least
F15hguy
the first one has a bigger bottom lip. got me stumped, not too sure on peacocks anyways, too many mongrels out there
camtang
got me stumped as well, I general dont bother with peacocks but for some reason I have four of them rite now

ryanjury
Peacock of some sort.. With all the hybrids out there it is next to impossible to determine what it is exactly without knowing where it came from and what it was sold as, even then it is only a best guess unless it came from a reputable supplier or breeder. camtang
Thanks Ryan, I had a feeling that a peacock of some description might be the best answer that I got
Tropheus
more a hybrib stuartgranti of some sort. its a shame there are so many hybribs around. i spent over $200 for four aulonocara from a well known lfs and even those turned out to be hybribs. great quality photo. what camera did you use?
camtang
Thats a shame about the Aulonocara! the problem with the hybrid I find is that alot of them turn out to be very nice looking fish, which then brings up the old question of keeping only pure or be happy with some nice looking hybrids. The camera is a Canon DS126151. I can not take any credit for the photos, I struggle to turn a camera on let alone take pics, my mate brung it round and snapped off a bunch of pics for me. nudge
agree with tropheus, more stuartgranti than jacob. It is a shame about the peacocks we have, there are a few nice ones around, depends how fussy you wanna be i guess
Tropheus
ive got two aulonocara species that i cant id but very good looking. i have breed a batch from both (not for sale) just to see what the offspring turn out like. both came from a importer but with no name other than Aulonocara.
