Guppy Luvva
Ok, a many folded flannel didn't work, so soft foam underneath the Air Pump has worked a treat :happy1: The sort of foam thats used for seats or matress toppers. I used 40mm thick, but half that should be fine too. I wanted to share this because it worked so well for me. I would be interested to hear what others have come up with, and any idea's that might have worked for others.

Guppy Luvva
mmmm, I did try that but it vibrated against the wall, same as inside the cupboard. I have an Eheim 400 and loving the FOAM..!
F15hguy
I have one that is noisy no matter what I do, waiting until missus gets annoyed enough to let me buy a bigger better one the one way valve inside seems to have gone slightly hard and is clattering a bit. Ira
mmmm, I did try that but it vibrated against the wall, same as inside the cupboard. I have an Eheim 400 and loving the FOAM..! The point of hanging it from a string is that it DOESN'T touch anything. I always found the normal rubber feet the air pumps come with do fine as long as it's on something solid that it's causing to vibrate or rattling against. No amount of hanging from strings helps with the sound coming directly from them. Good thing air pumps are totally cosmetic and you can throw them out unless they're running sponge filters. Filters do a much better and quieter job of aerating.
