do WCMM & Golden mountain minnows cross breed?

In your opinion. Most colour mutations of fish I don't like (same with pretty much any animal too). There are a few though that I do like, but golden minnows aren't one of them. With most fish I prefer the natural/wild colour forms. I like blueether's fish because they still have the basic colouration but it is kind of cool how they have orange fin tips. Remember this is just my opinion. I'm not saying that golden minnows are a horrible grose fish and that nobody should keep them, because that is just stupid and immature. You are entitled to your opinion and if you like them and they bring you pleasure then that's great

  • 2 weeks later...

I have lost the two males with the darkest fins in the last week &c:ry

Put them in a separate tank to breed, just a male and a female, and two days latter no male. Add another of the dark fin males and again gone by the next day.

All that I can think of is that they went through the 1000l/h pump that returns water to the tank above. Bottom tank is almost like a sump to the planted tank above that I'm going to try and get shrimp to breed in.

oh no! Mine still haven't made any fry. I thought to mix some WCMM with the golds but if the golds eat their young still none will survive.

Caserole, do you have an egg catcher to seperate the eggs from the adults? If not how are you getting eggs hatched?
