GrahamC
Fungus? Only just noticed it and all the other 4 goldfish don't seem to have anything similar. It's that white raised fuzzy lesion at the highest part of its dorsal spine. Sophia
I don't know cold water fish much but it looks like when a fish bumps into something and dislodges a scale. Those sort of things usually heal over a few days or weeks themselves in my experience, unless it's a particulary sickly fish and you will soon know about it if so. nice photo too
GrahamC
ahh.. that explains why I can see a thin black object in the middle of the lesion at 90 degrees to the spine. Had to borrow a DSLR from a neighbour as none of my cameras can focus on the fish

Caryl
I would agree with Sophia. Looks like a dislodged scale.
GrahamC
I did actually use my neighbour's 60D  I bought a Sony DSLR for my daughter a couple of years ago but the lens jammed under warranty, and then again out of warranty. Currently thinking of getting a replacement lens.
