Squirt
Why pay that much? I got a Sunsun 304 2000L/h for $110 from aqua world.

CodKing
It's more for the support of Chch fish stores. But... doing some reading on the Sun Sun filters, I'm not seeing many negatives. They seem to be pretty solid for how cheap they are. Anyone had any issues with the Sun Sun brand? Squirt
On my old one, I broke a clip while trying to close it, but other than that not much. The tubing starts to go brown after a while but easily fixable. If your able to assemble it by using pIctures you should be fine. The instructions aren't that clear. My old one that finally gave was a few years old then anyway.
GrahamC
One of the US sites I read suggests that you can easily outperform these external cannister filters with an internal powerhead filter attached to a fluidized sand filter ( US$69). Ira
I guess I should have put in that I want a built in primer and I want to buy local Both good points though... Primers are a waste of time. Other than when you first install the plumbing or remove it is the only time you would use one. And a quick suck on the hose and will work far better. Most primers I've seen are useless anyway.
GrahamC
I couldn't get the primer on my sun sun working ..in the end I filled the cannister with water, put the lid on, and only then was the priming "button" able to start the siphon. phoenix44
Fluvals are soooo good though! I've been using the 05 series for years and never once have had a problem. Tubes are good, parts are cheap and flow rate is excellent and they come with an excellent warranty.

CodKing
Dang it, this is getting hard  I'm leaning towards the 205 at this stage. I'll probably just end up flipping a coin or something.
ryanjury
Go the CF1200 you can't beat them I know people who have had them running for 6-7years with no issues, and if you do need parts they are dirt cheap and easy to get I think I brought some taps for one that I brought broken for like $11. Don't think you will find fluval parts that cheap..
CodKing
So far it's 2 points to Fluval and 3 to Aqua One. What about the differences between the new and old Aqua One models? The new ones have the primer but I'm not sure if there is any other real difference. Thanks for the input, it's great not to go blind buying! Ira
What about the differences between the new and old Aqua One models? I dunno if there is an even newer model of the CF1200 that has a primer. But I have an "Aqua one" and an "Aquis" Both are identical other than the label. CodKing
From those stats I'm thinking the 1250, now I just have to find one...
GrahamC
Why don't you get one of each, and then you can tell us which is better? And redundancy is a good thing.
CodKing
If was going to spend that much on filtration I think I'd go for something a bit more top end than a CF1250!

The 04s were rubbish.
