Li@m
Using Non-Aquarium safe silicon on DIY CO2? All i want to do is use it to seal the tubing coming out of the bottles, is it safe??
Sophia
many of them are OK, they just haven't bothered to test on aquariums so don't risk any hassle by saying they can be used in the aquarium. The sort you really can't use is the stuff with mould inhibitors, but general plain old standard silicone is OK. If you post the name of it no doubt someone can tell you if they've used it. Some takes longer to go off than others too.
alanmin4304
Silicone will not seal the tubing. If you use the right fittings it should seal OK.
Bishop
Silicone will seal them you just need sealant/adhesive rather than the sealant. A bit more expensive but will save on frustration later.
wellmax
I have found the most effective method of attaching a Co2 tube to a DIY Kit is to use a air tube connector. Drill a hole in the bottle cap a fraction smaller than the connector, screw the connecter into the cap and then seal using a Hot Glue Gun.
