henward
Anyone used them? what aer they like? i read they are bio and mechanical filtration that has a backwash feature so you just switch it and it flushes all the debris and solids out. anyone used this before. actually quite cost effective when you factor in the power of this filter
broms2
looks the same as a pool filter which seem to have the same features
David R
Pool filters are full of sand and not much good on fish tanks, ultimas are full of bio media and awesome. I doubt you'll find anyone locally using them, best to do some searching on MFK. I know Neo runs them on his 600g, and there's a guy from Hawaii running two of them on a 900g (drool, I wish I could order a 10x4x3' acrylic tank off-the-shelf!). I'm not sure if the cost of shipping one here would make them uneconomical compared to a DIY set up. Maybe fill a pool filter full of noodles? henward
weighing up though is it worth getting that or conventional tank sump with conventional media? wonder whats better lol i mean really im just looking for 'future' plans gotta plan ahead:D a big unit of these can probably replace all my filters in theory. broms2
the same principal by the looks of the inside of them, they are very similiar to a pool filter I am putting together for one of my ponds. just the different media as mentioned by David R instead of sand
