Harry Potter

I read all the books and watched all the movies, and I found that lots of important little details were left out of the movies. I went to watch the last part yesterday morning, it was very well done, but I still had the feeling that something was missing. My husband (not a reader) only watched the movies and he had so many questions that only I could answer him because I read the books, do any of you find that too? If there is some Harry Potter fans out there of course, :slfg:

I'm a fan and yes I agree, these movies suffer from the same problems as any good book/movie translation. All the little details are missing, and I still get grumpy at all the little changes they make that seem unnecessary. I guess you really have to treat them as two separate mediums.

Once I see the last HP movie I can then look forward to The Hobbit :bounce:

I just hate how she killed dumbledoor and i hate how harry finally kills voldermort in the books. I've only seen upto the 5th movie because they are so terrible. It really annoyed me that professor D didn't go out fighting in a crazy blaze of glory, cracking out some amazing magic that only he knew that we had never seen before, but instead he gets weak from drinking poisened water and has already gleemed the future, doesn't want malfoy to be a killer so tells snape he must do it! Im just like naaaaaaaa! why couldnt they have a huge fight in hogwarts vs those death eaters, instead he falls from a tower lifeless.... not a death befitting professor D you stupid english woman! AND THEN! she has the nerve in the next book to not only not leave anything behind from professor D for harry, not a message or a clue! nothing, he doesnt just explode back into life like i had hoped the whole time. He's just dead and thats it, but the professor D i knew, had he knowen, as he did, that he was going to die, would have gone to some efforts to leave something for harry! BUT IT GETS WORSE! the final stand off in the books between voldemort and harry is just stupid! talking for ages and then bam voldermort is dead... 7 books leading up to... the biggest disappiontment ever. I still love HP but its made me hate the author. She literally had had enough of writing HP so wrecked the last two books for the fans. I say wrecked, but i really mean the two main things i complained about above lol cause there is heaps of really cool stuff that happens to.

I think the movies were well done and ended of brilliantly, it just had lots of missing pieces that was important in the books, but then again they did not really add those to the rest of the movies so it did not seem lost in the movies if you did not read the books. EG... Dumbledore would not look or talk to Harry unless it was absolutely neccessary after he found the ring. It was because Harry and Voldemort was too connected and Dumbledore was scared that Voldemort would see through Harry's eyes, infact he sometimes did because Dumbledore could see the hatred in Harry's eyes withoug Harry even realising it. A very important thing not mentioned as well and this is why Dumbledore chose to die is that the ring was cursed and Dumbledore put it on his finger and it started killing him, he would have died anyways and much sooner than the movie stated. Now most of the things I mentioned above was also seen by Harry while looking at Snape's memories, but in the movie that was not seen, everyone thought it was because he drank from that basin to get to the ring that made him ill. Well that is my six cents, hope the harry potter finale make more sense to some of you fans out there now :nilly:

The original ring DD broke himself infected his hand and he was able to stop the spread with ancient magic otherwise he would have died immediatly, The poison from the basin did make him sick and very weak and he had no time to recover when he realised what was happening in hogwarts, He knew that this would happen sooner or later and thats why he got snape involved because he trusted him to make the tough decisions and didnt want malfoy to be a killer or look weak in voldermorts eyes which would also get him killed because he believed in the goodness of his students. Had he not drank that potion he would have had enough strength to fight or atleast apparate and undoubtly would not have died quicker. But finding himself in an impossible position he realised it was finally his time to sacrifice himself for the greater good, which he knew he was going to do since the momment he met harry.

If you like the movies your not a true fan imo. I just watched the last two and the action is fantastic, the special effects where cool at best, the story was terrible as expected and daniel radcliffes acting was shocking as usual.
