amtiskaw Posted July 9, 2011 Report Share Posted July 9, 2011 100 kph is pretty slow for a high end glider, especially once you get into slope soaring. World record is in the region of 500+ KPH. Here we go, this guy claims 750 KPH. Fast enough you can't see much on the camera beyond the occasional flicker. Yeah, I was being conservative as I've never measured. 100 isn't bad for frontside. Dynamic soaring on the back side is where the speed is. That video is real. Quite a few guys have gone over 400mph now. This is the howl I was talking about Caryl, I don't think people make any noise after they get hit at 100, they don't move much either...
