Sophia
both look nice. And if you toddle off down to Ti Rakau Drive to the Aussie Butcher you will find more of those big river stones in their garden ... just to borrow of course 8) I recommend dwarf chain loaches, they rule

critter_crazy
That's okay, I won't be having guppies in the big tank with them, just in the 2ft
Ismart120
They keep the snail population down at least, not so effective with mts though.
critter_crazy
I think the ones I have are ramshorns (sp?) :dunno:
Sophia
there are fat spherical ramshorns that grow to and past the size of a coin, and there are ramshorns that are round and flat and brown that don't get much bigger than about 5mm. I have the latter and squash them against the glass for them to eat so I know the snail is gone. I have a feeling they do also hunt them out a bit as I am not getting many elsewhere in the tank. I haven't had fry in with my loaches but I imagine like any fish they will anything that fits in their mouth. Saying that, a guppy fry that lives past a week or so is probably a bit big for them to eat.
critter_crazy
Yeap I have the tiny ones, I might get 3 or so DCLs for the larger tank then I'm thinking I might get a school of pygmy cories for the mini tank, they're so damn cute!
jarrodrussell
both tanks are looking very nice i love the fighter i am on a hunt to find another one my one also died on saturday thow stupid skunk loaches had a go at it :an!gry
Sophia
I had 2 loaches and they were OK but hid a fair bit. Got 2 more, they were more active but still a bit hidey. Got 1 more to make 5 and they are now out and about most of the time. It was like someone switched a light on that said 'now we are brave and do anything'. Pygmies are also very cute. critter_crazy
Loving how the 2ft tank is looking now the water's cleared up! The plants are taking well and the fishies seem happy 8) Of course MTS is taking it's toll and I'm already coming up with ideas for another planted tank (I'm thinking dwarf puffers & otos) I promise I'll stop annoying you all with my constant posts when I'm back at work after reccovering from my surgery  Pics: (Please excuse the net I have set up in the hope I'll have fry soon)

critter_crazy
They're ment to be super agressive but a 2ft is probably a good size for 3 or more so as long as its heavily planted What size tank do you have your 6 in? Do they seem to get along well? I went to animates today and they only had one but boy was he cute!
critter_crazy
Just had to share these 'Then&Now' Pics of the 165L It's been just 4 weeks between the two pictures (keep in mind - no ferts etc) I've also started my dwarf puffer project. It's housing some guppies at the moment until the plants grow a bit more :happy2:
