MalcolmX Posted June 28, 2011 Report Share Posted June 28, 2011 i wanted to make a tank out of 10mm glass with these dimentions: 1500mm L x 800mm W x 600mm H thats 720 liters or 185 gallons. i will probably put bracing in it (those bits of glass that span the width of the tank). also does anyone have an idea of the value of that much glass. its going to be my new jars eventual home. cheers malcolm Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
the-obstacle Posted June 28, 2011 Report Share Posted June 28, 2011 That's practically my tank with a bit more depth. Mine is 10mm which is fine for 600mm high. MalcolmX Posted June 28, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 28, 2011 thancks guys thats what i wanted to hear ive read the article on glass thickness calculating, but found it pretty heavy reading and it seems to say use 25mm glass for a tank alot larger, hate to think how much that would cost! (also the glass merchants here in dunnos laugh and look puzzled when i say 12mm glass, some will even have to order 10mm glass in :roll: ) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
