Hi all,

I asked a question around apistos given current stocking in a juwel 260:

harlequins (3) used to cycle (was 10 but angels have thinned them out)

4 wild type angels (p.scalare)

4 veiltail german blue rams

5 super red rosy barbs

6 odessa barbs

4 chain loaches

4 leopard cories

2 SAE

4 ottos

1 featherfin synodontis

1 bristlenose

Feed back was half of my fish will become synodontis food......so apistos are out...

it was also suggested that i rehome the syno....who is around 15cm

i need to think about this one because he is one of my favourite fish....

all of my research indicated that synos were ok in a community provided they were kept alone in a tank my size and they have a habit of neon hunting at night.

does anyone out there have a syno or have kept a syno in a community tank such as mine with no issues?

cheers in advance andy

I used to have a few in my tank. I got rid of them not because they ate the smaller fish but because of the way they pushed everything aside and gobbled down the food. Poor cories and whiptails didn't stand a chance.

It would not be atypical of them eating smaller fish though.
