Hdoubleu
I know platys will get it on with any other tyoe of platy but what about BN? If you had a plain ole BN and a golden BN would they get it on to make babies? And if they would are they hard to breed?
Joshlikesfish
Ancistrus often cross breed. Thats why there are so many variations with the common BN. I have ones atm that are pretty standard but have a yellow band on the tail.

Hdoubleu
Our lady BN kept beating up our male BN so now he lives in a different tank. Our golden BN is a lady as well and lives in the same tank as our other lady BN. Can I move a lady in with the man or will he get the smack around again? Joshlikesfish
Is there a cave for them to breed in? As long as the tank is large enough and there is hiding places, it should be fine. The only issue I had was when I had 5 large males in one 4ft. 3x spotted 2x GBA. Resulted in one very dead Spotted and some injured GBA
Hdoubleu
Mr Bris has been live with my fighter and a platy for a while. Mrs Bris Bris in the community tank. He really had some serious damage when I moved him. I am aprehensive of putting them together again.
Caryl
I would never keep golds or albinos in with the brown as they would interbreed and ruin the colour lines.
ryanjury
They will cross they are the same fish.. Just one has been line bred (from a random fish that came out gold) to produce gold ones, same with the albinos. It is probably not a good idea to breed them together because it will create confusion down the line (ie someone buys a brown one breeds it and gets half golds out), also it is hard to guarantee exactly what species of ancistrus you have so best to keep what you have..
