#!CrunchBang
I get a pair of Keyhole cichlids yesterday and I understand they're timid, but I'm a little concerned as I haven't seen them eat yet and they seem to stay in the tunnels most of the time. Is there any advice that you can give to help? The water is changed every 3-5 days about 20% and there is plenty of plants to give cover. REEVESTA
dither fish like tetras or barbs will help, do you have any plants in the tank?
#!CrunchBang
Yep, have lots of plants, have a school of 9 harlequin rasbora. They have come out more today, but I still haven't seen them eat, I'll be going to the fish shop where I bought them tomorrow to get some advice on getting them to eat. #!CrunchBang
Got them Tuesday afternoon, they're becoming less timid, but I still haven't really seen them eat.
REEVESTA
Are you feeding floating or sinking pellets?
#!CrunchBang
We'll the good news is that they have eaten some bloodworm's. I've tried flake, granules, and sinking pellets.
REEVESTA
They should eat granules eventualy they have quite small mouths for cichlids so try to a avoid some larger foods i had a texas who wouldnt touch anything unless it would clearly fit in his mouth. Supaclear
Not sure what sort of granules you use but i am having great results with nulife spectra regular. rams and angels etc love it. I thought i was being taken for a ride given the price vs size but seems to last for ages. on shy fish, i have a striata loach in a nano that was snail ridden< didnt see him eat for about 6 weeks, same time as snails ran out
wee2
Got them Tuesday afternoon, they're becoming less timid, but I still haven't really seen them eat. aha I have a pair too for more than a year. I dont see they eat often either. they are very timid that would be a challenge putting them in a cichlid community. keep them with tetras will be a good idea or hold a tank for the pair plants and sheds are very important. anyway mine dont seem exsited in my tank :sml2: try to sell the pair
