#!CrunchBang
To post images you have to host them on an external site like http://imgur.com/ then use the codes how often do you do water changes and how much do you change

alanmin4304
Could be a bacterial bloom from overfeeding.

Squirt
Cycling takes a few weeks. Search nitrification cycle on google.
jgreenslade89
So should i let the tank cycle for a couple of weeks before adding in the fish? This tank has been in for 2 months now and over the fast two weeks it has been cloudy.
ichthus
I had a similar problem this year. I starved the fish for 1 week (assuming it was due to waste in the tank causing a bacterial bloom), added more oxygen (air stone) and additional filtration. With 2 weeks of solid water changes (20% every 2-3 days) it cleared up. But now just have to watch the feeding. Try taking it to a pet store and asking them to test the water. It may provide a clue. jgreenslade89
I certainly do
Squirt
There's you're reason. It's because you've most likely killed your bacteria in the filter resulting in cloudy water.
jgreenslade89
Okay that makes sense, so how should I be cleaning my filter?
Caryl
You keep killing the good bacteria that live in the pads so the tank keeps re-cycling.
snookie
completely cleaning out a filter can kill all the good bacteria , and can cause the tank to cycle
GZ_Loach
cleaning the whole filter is fine, if you use tank water.
jgreenslade89
so should i try doing a 20% water change over a couple of weeks every 2 days and see if this works?
GZ_Loach
There is a product you can get from petshops that helps cycle your tank and make it safe for fish if used over a period of a week or two
