ally07
well apparehtly, the POINSON is the key. according to what i read, the poison in centis is what makes the aro red, so you DO want the poinson lol i would be curious as to the scientific backing behind it or is it myth and legend Hmmm.. Based on logical guess-work, if a centipede sting can make a grown man hurt/ itch, then the reaction to a relatively smaller arowana would be worse, right? But I don't think I've heard of aros dying from centipedes before.. Mostly they die from jumping jacks and food getting stuck somewhere along the line. henward
centipede venim is deadly only when taken in through blood. similar to snake venom you can drink snake venom and some even claim there is a health benefit to it, though nothing has been studied i dont think. maybe this is similar, facto r superstition, dont nkow. most venoms are deadly when mainlined, through stomach usually destroys the poison, centis are the same i think. there could be truth in the venom providing some amino acids unique to it. but how do they know that? and is it true? MalcolmX
would spiders have the right poison henward? what about if you feed coloured locusts, eg green locusts for green aros. and is it ok to feed sea crustations to fresh water fish, eg krill washed up on beach (still alive)? phoenix44
you can drink snake venom I wouldn't want to be ingesting a cytotoxic venom.
Joshlikesfish
I wouldn't want to be ingesting a cytotoxic venom. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venomous_snake Poisons can be absorbed by the body, such as through the skin or digestive system, while venoms must first be introduced directly into tissues or the blood stream (envenomated) through mechanical means. It is, for example, therefore harmless to drink snake venom as long as there are no lacerations inside the mouth or digestive tract.

ally07
lol, for all we know, they're feeding centipedes just because of the red legs! But the best live food I've seen is red super worms. Breeders gut load the super worms and god-knows-what to the extent that the worms turn red from all the carotenoids they've consumed lol. THAT will make your fish blush haha.
