jgreenslade89 Posted May 22, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 22, 2011 I have a 105 lt tank, with plants etc, I have neon tectras (forgive smelling) and mollies. I am using a haliea filter. Squirt Posted May 22, 2011 Report Share Posted May 22, 2011 Yup google how to cycle an aquarium. Took me 1 month to cycle mine. My tanks been St up for 4 years now. Apart from a few algae outbreaks while I'm on holiday. Basically bacteria in the filter turns ammonia NH4 to nitrites NO2? to nitrates NO3. Nitrates is a less toxic form of waste. Ammonia basically is fish waste . Then you just do frequent water changes to keep nitrte levels down. The cloudiness is always there when you first cycle a tank. Good Luck!
