Undulatus plant

Is Aponogeton Undulatus the same thing as Cryptocoryne Undulatus?

NO

One is a Cryptocoryne and one is a Aponogeton

Two very different plant species.

They may to the commoner look similar but they are very different. The name undulata is because of the leaf shape. Hence them both looking similar.

And C. undulata

Does that make sense?

Undulatus comes from the word undulate meaning to have a wavelike appearance or form

So many plants with wavy edge leaves are given this name.

Eg

microsorum pteropus undulata

anubias undulata

hosta undulata

Cryptocoryne Undulatus

Aponogeton Undulatus

ahhhhh! ok! Thanks - I must admit I do like the wavy edges
