Joutei Posted April 22, 2011 Report Share Posted April 22, 2011 Hey guys , got myself 3 Plecos now. x2 L140 & x1 L270 Upgrading to a Juwel Rio 180 soon . Just need some advice on what to feed them, how many times a day , and also how to make sure they are eating. Also how to build their confidence. Joshlikesfish Posted April 22, 2011 Report Share Posted April 22, 2011 I feed my L140 hikari algae wafers, the occasional JBL novo tab and courgette. I use shrimp pellets and novo tab as a staple diet for my L270. You can also use wardley algae wafers for the L140. In terms of confidence building, having lots of hiding spaces available helps. I feed mine 1-3 times a day, but only small amounts. Sometimes I wont feed them. I find a small night time feeding is more accepted than day time ones with my L140. David R Posted April 23, 2011 Report Share Posted April 23, 2011 Feed a mixture of prepared, meaty and vege foods and you should be fine, the L140 will go for zucchini as P44 said, and the L270 should go more for shrimp and bloodworms. Both will eat a mix of prepared foods. ps. might want to rearrange your signature, it doesn't seem to be being enforced at the moment but the guidelines do state they're only supposed to be three lines long.
