kingmatherz
Hi all, just setting up a small hexoganal tank 13" wide by 15" long, height about 20" - any idea what type/size filter i should use???
the-obstacle
Anything that's suitable for a 60 litre tank would suffice. You want something that'll turn over about 300L an hour but then we don't know what you're putting in it so you might need more.
ally07
I think 60L might be a bit too much for a hang-on-back (I may be wrong), but why not just go overkill a little bit and get a small canister filter? Something like a Fluval 105 would be more than sufficient for 60L, but you'll know that the water quality is maintained.. Not sure how much they go for these days but I think it's around $100 for a small canister filter. Never scrimp on filtration! HTH
Caryl
You can certainly use a HOB for a tank that size. For instance, AquaClear have the following... Numbers reading across are; Aquarium size in litres / US Gals / litres per hour / US gals per hour AquaClear Mini 75 20 378 100 AquaClear 150 113 30 567 150 AquaClear 200 189 50 757 200 AquaClear 300 378 100 1135 300 AquaClear 500* 567 150 1892
ryanjury
What's going in the tank? There is nothing wrong with bubble or sponge filters for smaller tanks either if you are on a budget it is what most breeders use..
