mcrudd
Hi all, once I have my tank sorted and all the bristlenose babies have gone to their new houses I would love to get some of those cute little dwarf pufferfish animates are currently advertising. Will they be compatable with my fish I currently have. Its 15 Harlequins, 8 Rummynoses, 2 chocolate zebras, 3 bristlenoses and two glass catfish Thanks in advance for any help
phoenix44
I wouldn't do it. They are best kept in species tanks and have very unique and specific dietary requirements.
Adrienne
they also get very hungry at night when the other fish are sleeping or so it seems

Thanks, I did some more reading and realised that, I also read that 15 litres is big enough to house four, it seems a bit small, but if its possible would you suggest having only little puffers in a small tank. Small tanks are not that expensive and that cute little Fluval chi tank looks nice if its big enough for them (or even the spongebob one  ) they also get very hungry at night when the other fish are sleeping or so it seems  LOL Adrienne I had to laugh when I read that
Danni
Hi Are you sure they don't mean 15 gallons? Danni
mcrudd
Hi Are you sure they don't mean 15 gallons? Danni http://www.theaquariumwiki.com/Carinote ... vancoricus no it said 5 gallons which is 19 litres But I myself thought it was a bit small. Saw a nice 40 litre tank on the Hollywood fishfarm website that was affordable, might rather go for that one
SamH
I had two Dwarfs in a 54L medium-heavy planted tank with a Plakat. They got along well for about a month, then it all turned sour and only 1 DP remained. They are cute, small and vicious

SamH
Yeah, maybe it was just that I only had two? Only thing for small tanks are Bettas really.
Adrienne
Agreed Sam - yes I got two then after a couple of weeks added 4 more. All was good for another 3-4 weeks and then about every 2nd night one of the newer ones disappeared until the original 2 remained.
mcrudd
Yeah, maybe it was just that I only had two? Only thing for small tanks are Bettas really. You might have had two males SamH Agreed Sam - yes I got two then after a couple of weeks added 4 more. All was good for another 3-4 weeks and then about every 2nd night one of the newer ones disappeared until the original 2 remained. It seems that your two original ones stayed awake at night while the others fell asleep LOL Thanks for the advice everyone, Hubby said it sounded like too much trouble. I was a bit dissapointed since this was the first time he agreed to me having a second tank  but I guess some other cute little looking fish will come along soon and have him be so giving again
