Fluval Chi - planted?

Anyone had a crack at doing a planted fluval chi?

Seeing as though you can get the tiny hagen nano heaters, and now nano co2, and its a beutifully finished tank, wondering how well it would go planted.

Bits of concern would be the 11w LED lighting (no idea how good LEDs are with regards to wattage etc... and that filtration system might cause too much surface disturbance to use Co2...

They look nice...... Depends on what you're wanting to do, these sorts of 'out of the box' tanks have limitations with lighting and filtration.

It's like buying a stereo, do you go for the all in one system or buy individuel components?.... components will always have more flexibility.

It's not rally my thing but it looks interesting, and even if the lights aren't enough to go fully planted, you could still pull off something neat with it. I found this: http://socalaquascapers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7565 which I thought was pretty well done :).

[and yes, I'm aware we can't have the moss balls in NZ, but the 'tree' is Java moss which we do have.]

Fluval edge = major pain in the bum.

Chi would be a better option.

Tbh though id rather just get a 1ft cube, choose my own lighting, i25 filter or something and go that way. cheaper too.

I havent heard great things about the Fluval co2 systems either. the regulators dont quite fit standard sized co2 bottles so you cant buy cheap or refillable ones, you have to buy the branded fluvals, and no soleniods either.
