axolotl-danio
I'm in the process of purchasing a gold axolotl online and the cheapest postage option will take up to 3 days (from Tauranga to Nelson). Will he be fine for that long? I've never had fish shipped to me before.
Mel
I would go with 'overnight' courier simply because i wouldn't want any live animal being in transit for that amount of time. It would properly be ok but would you want to risk it?
Adrienne
I wouldn't even attempt to try and post a fish as it would need to be labelled properly to stop it being biffed around and I am pretty sure that the PO won't take it. Not much point in using the cheapest option if the fish arrives dead. Courier from one island to another is about $27 plus the polybox and heatpack. Zayne
if some people loose fish in an overnight delivery i wouldn't keep much hope for a 3 day delivery.
Insect Direct
overnight is pretty much the only decent way, preferably in polybox and maybe even with cold pack. may cook the axie at this time of year especially if help up for a day or more. nzpost are getting more and more anti live goods. after all their terms state something along the lines of live animals are fobidden items. even some courier's are reluctant. had a postie trying to tell me its illegal to send live by the post a while back, not sure if thats reality though. same day service would be great but overnight does the trick. gagaforfish
I remember a while ago I was on the nz post website and i think live animals were in prohibited items, there were some exceptions though..
