kingmatherz
Ok thinking of getting 1 or 2 Oscars, anyone keep these? I know they get big. I have a 270L tank, would that hold 2 even when they get older?
DennisP
I've been told no. And I tend to agree. Small ones would be fine, but they grow fast and 270L isn't enough for 2.

kingmatherz
does anyone actually keep them and know about this? i have been reading and everywhere on the net seem to suggest 1 is ok by itself and minimum 55 gallon tank which is 208L but bigger the better
Fruju
I would have said 270L is ok for 1?
phoenix44
Given how boisterous they are; how much they move around and how active they can be; the best long term tank option would be a 5ft long tank nearing 350-400L. They can get quite large, and grow incredibly fast.
Zayne
i have 3, 2 at about 25cm and 1 at 15-20cm small oscars grow extremely fast say 6 months and they are at least 15cm! a 270l tank would work for like a month or two but they do need a bigger tank. henward
oscars get big. large, and sometimes agro. so that is too small.

ryanjury
Which african tank? I have plenty of them running.. Best bet is to google "african cichlid tank" or african tank or something like that and look at all the images that pop up.. Link us to a tank you like and we can go from there..
